Dier Stadtteil Bergedorf liegt am Rande von Hamburg und erlebt derzeit ein Bevölkerungswachstum, das den Bau neuer öffentlicher Einrichtungen erforderlich macht. Das für die Grundschule „Am Schilfufer“ ausgewählte Grundstück liegt an einer stark befahrenen Straße im Norden, was eine erhebliche Lärmbelastung darstellt. Am östlichen Ende des Grundstücks, das sich nach Osten hin erweitert, befindet sich der Fluss Schleusengraben, der bald von einem Spazierweg in Richtung Stadtzentrum gesäumt sein wird.
Unser Projekt verteilt das Programm auf zwei Gebäude:
Im Westen beherbergt das erste Gebäude die Turnhalle und die Kantine, abseits der Wohnhäuser. Ein städtischer Vorplatz vor diesem Gebäude schafft eine leicht erkennbare öffentliche Adresse. Die im Erdgeschoss gelegene Kantine kann auch Schul- oder Nachbarschaftsveranstaltungen aufnehmen.
Das zweite Gebäude, das die Unterrichtsräume beherbergt, liegt weiter zurück entlang der erhöhten Straße Sander Damm. Diese Position ermöglicht es, einen großen Schulhof im Süden freizuhalten, der vor der Straße geschützt ist und einen Blick auf den Fluss bietet. Die Außenbereiche der Schule sind somit direkt mit dem zukünftigen öffentlichen Park am Fluss verbunden, wodurch eine ökologische Kontinuität zwischen den bepflanzten Höfen, dem Park und dem Wasser entsteht.
Das Landschaftskonzept gewährleistet eine autonome Regenwasserbewirtschaftung auf dem Grundstück und fügt sich in das von Hamburg geförderte Konzept der „Schwammstadt“ ein.
Der Innenraum des Unterrichtsgebäudes umfasst einen Dienstleistungsbereich im Norden (vertikale Verkehrswege, sanitäre Anlagen, Lager...), der vor den Geräuschen der Straße schützt. Die Unterrichts- und Gemeinschaftsräume orientieren sich nach Süden und zum Hof hin.
Die Unterrichtsräume sind in vier offene und flexible „Cluster“ organisiert, die dem vom Schulmanagement gewünschten modularen Raumprogramm entsprechen. Jeder Cluster umfasst einen zentralen gemeinsamen Bereich, der durch einen Innenhof großzügig beleuchtet wird und Zugang zu einem Balkon bietet.
Die Wahl einer Holzstruktur mit regelmäßiger Rahmung entspricht den ökologischen und räumlichen Flexibilitätszielen des Auftraggebers. Dieses Rahmenkonzept ermöglicht bestimmte „Leerstellen“: Ein zentraler Innenhof bringt Licht und natürliche Belüftung in die Unterrichtsräume, und große Terrassen im zweiten Stock dienen als Außenunterrichtsräume.

Situé à la périphérie de Hambourg, le quartier de Bergedorf connaît aujourd'hui une croissance démographique nécessitant la construction de nouveaux équipements publics. La parcelle choisie pour l'aménagement de l'école élémentaire « Am Schilfufer s’appuie sur un axe routier au nord définissant une contrainte sonore non négligeable. Au bout de la parcelle s’élargissant vers l’est se situe la rivière Schleusengraben, qui sera bientôt longée par une promenade vers le centre urbain.
Notre projet répartit le programme en deux bâtiments :
À l'ouest, la première construction abrite le gymnase et la cantine, à l'écart des immeubles d'habitation. Devant cet équipement, un parvis urbain crée une adresse publique facilement identifiable. Située au rez-de-chaussée, la cantine permet également d'accueillir des événements scolaires ou de quartier.
Le second bâtiment, qui accueille les espaces d'enseignement, est positionné plus en retrait, le long de la route surélevée Sander Damm. Cette position permet de dégager une grande cour de récréation au sud, protégée de la rue et offrant une vue sur la rivière. Les espaces extérieurs de l'école sont ainsi connectés directement avec le futur parc public bordant la rivière, créant une continuité écologique entre les cours plantées, le parc et l'eau.
Le projet paysager assure une gestion autonome des eaux pluviales sur la parcelle, s'inscrivant dans le concept de « ville éponge » promu par Hambourg.
L'espace intérieur du bâtiment d'enseignement inclut une bande de services au nord (circulations verticales, sanitaires, stockage, ..), qui protège des nuisances de la rue. Les espaces d'enseignement et les espaces communs s'orientent vers le sud et la cour.
Les espaces d'enseignement sont organisés en 4 « clusters » ouverts et flexibles, conformément au programme spatial modulable souhaité par la direction de l'école. Chaque cluster comprend un espace commun central généreusement éclairé par un patio intérieur et donnant sur un balcon.
Le choix d'une structure en bois à trame régulière répond aux ambitions écologiques et de flexibilité des espaces de la maîtrise d'ouvrage. Cette trame permet certains « vides » : un patio central apporte lumière et ventilation naturelle aux espaces d'enseignement, et de grandes terrasses au 2e étage servent d'espaces d'enseignement extérieurs.

Located on the outskirts of Hamburg, the Bergedorf district is currently experiencing population growth that requires the construction of new public facilities. The plot chosen for the construction of the elementary school "Am Schilfufer" is on a busy road to the north, which creates considerable noise pollution. At the end of the plot, which widens to the east, is the Schleusengraben River, which will soon be bordered by a promenade towards the city center.
Our project distributes the program into two buildings:
To the west, the first building houses the gymnasium and the canteen, away from the residential buildings. In front of this facility, an urban forecourt creates an easily identifiable public address. Located on the ground floor, the canteen can also host school or neighborhood events.
The second building, which houses the teaching spaces, is positioned further back along the elevated Sander Damm road. This position allows for a large playground to the south, protected from the street and offering a view of the river. The school's outdoor spaces are thus directly connected to the future public park bordering the river, creating an ecological continuity between the planted courtyards, the park, and the water.
The landscaping project ensures autonomous rainwater management on the plot, in line with the "sponge city" concept promoted by Hamburg.
The interior space of the teaching building includes a service strip to the north (vertical circulation, sanitary facilities, storage, etc.), which protects against street noise. The teaching and common areas face south and towards the courtyard.
The teaching spaces are organized into four open and flexible "clusters" in accordance with the modular spatial program desired by the school's management. Each cluster includes a central common area generously lit by an interior patio and opening onto a balcony.
The choice of a regular timber frame structure meets the client's ecological and spatial flexibility goals. This framework allows for certain "voids": a central patio brings light and natural ventilation to the teaching spaces, and large terraces on the second floor serve as outdoor teaching areas.
