Das Loft Z befindet sich in einem ehemaligen Industriegebäude in 1070 Wien. Die Durchgesteckte Wohnung hat eine Nutzfläche von 100m² bei einer Raumhöhe von 4m.
In einer zentralen 2,20m hohen Box als Nasszelle sind Badezimmer, WC, Küche und Abstellraum integriert. Darüber befindet sich der Lese / Spiel- oder Rückzugs / Schlafbereich.
Durch unterschiedliche Schliess-Syteme, wird der zentrale Kubus je nach aktueller, erforderlicher Nutzung angepasst (klappen, ziehen, schieben) so dass sich auch der Hauptwohnraum je nach Nutzung verändert.
Alle bestehenden Außenwände wurden frei gespielt so dass keine innenliegende Trennwand an die Außenwände anschließt. Tagsüber wird die Wohnung aufgrund der offenen Gestaltung mit Sichtachsen als „Mono-espace“ (Einraum) genutzt. Nachts können die zwei Schlafbereiche durch Raum-hohe Türen abgetrennt werden.
Ziel war es auch den industriellen Charakter zu erhalten und gleichzeitig eine wohnliche Atmosphäre zu bewirken.
Dies wurde durch eine abgestimmte Auswahl von Materialien geschaffen:
ein weißer Industrieboden aus Polyurethan-Beschichtung fließ nahtlosdurch die gesamte Wohnung und wurde auch in allen den Nassräumen (Dusche, Badewanne und sogar beim Badezimmermöbel) verwendet.
Um die Wirkung des Mono-espaces hervorzuheben und das Licht zu maximieren wurde die Wohnung einheitlich in weis konzipiert. Das Leben und die Farbe kommt durch die Bewohner.

Le loft Z se situe dans le centre de Vienne, en Autriche. Cet espace industriel transformé en appartement est réalisé en 2010.
Le plan traversant bénéficie d'une surface d’environ 100 m² et profite d'une hauteur de 4m sous plafond. A l'achat, cet espace est seulement traversé par un poteau et une gaine verticale en son centre.
Le potentiel des 4m sous plafond est pleinement utilisé par les architectes. Ils rassemblent toutes les fonctions servantes/humides sous un bloc central de faible hauteur, laissant une grande liberté d'aménagement au reste de l’espace. Les pièces principales ; séjour, cuisine, chambres et entrée profitent ainsi pleinement des façades aux grandes fenêtres.
Le volume central génère, par sa petite hauteur, une surface en mezzanine d’environ 20m². Cette surface se réparti sur les trois pièces principales : un coin couchage pour chaque chambre et un coin détente coté séjour. Les espaces abrités sous ce volume (salle de bain, bloc cuisine, bureau, bibliothèque) sont semi-ouverts. Ils se referment grâce à un linéaire de rideaux périphérique, séparation visuelle et d'adoucissement acoustique.
Aucune nouvelle cloison ne percute les murs périphériques existants, afin de créer une fluidité des déplacements et une sensation de mono-espace pendant la journée. Le soir, les portes toute-hauteur se referment pour délimiter les pièces et apporter l’intimité nécessaire.
Le choix de matériaux bruts (sol coulé en polyuréthane, cuisine en acier inoxydable, poutres béton apparentes…) répond au souhait de conserver le caractère industriel du bâtiment et de renforcer l'homogénéité de l'espace. Le blanc, omniprésent dans cet appartement, accompagne l'apport de lumière et crée un espace unique. La couleur est alors apportée par les occupants et leurs choix d'aménagement.

The Loft Z is located in a former industrial building in 1070 Vienna. The plugged apartment has a floor space of 100m² with a ceiling height of 4m.
The bathroom, toilet, kitchen and storage room are integrated into a central 2,20m high box as a wet room. Above is the reading / play or retreat / sleeping area.
Through different locking systems, the central cube is adjusted according to current, required use (fold, pull, slide) so that the main living space changes depending on the use.
All existing outer walls were played freely so that no internal partition wall adjoins the outer walls. During the day, the apartment is used as a "mono-space" (one-room) due to the open design with visual axes. At night, the two sleeping areas can be separated by room-high doors.
The aim was also to preserve the industrial character while creating a homely atmosphere.
This was created through a coordinated selection of materials:
a white industrial floor made of polyurethane coating flows seamlessly through the entire apartment and was also used in all the wet rooms (shower, bath and even bathroom furniture).
To emphasize the effect of the mono-space and to maximize the light, the apartment was designed in a uniform way. Life and color comes through the inhabitants.
